Zach Greinke's price tag might be a little too high for the Angels. Many people around baseball are estimating that Greinke is looking to get a massive deal perhaps as much as $25 million a year for up to 5-6 years.
However, according to CBS' Danny Knobler reported that the Angels were considered the frontrunner's for Greinke but because the price tag the Angels are looking somewhere else.
I personally will like if the Angels will look somewhere else because $25 million for 5-6 years is a little too much for me. Zach is a really good pitcher but I don't think he is the Cy Young pitcher he was in 2009 and to pay him soo much money for 2 or 3 more wins is not worth it. I rather see the Angels get someone less expensive like Brandon McCarthy because of the injury he had he should be pretty cheap. Also someone like Ryan Dempster, Kyle Lohse that are ground ball pitchers or even Francisco Liriano if he come cheap because when he is on he is could be a really good 4 or 5 starter. I feel like the Angels could get two good starters that will eat up innings and will have 12-16 wins each. I believe that will allow the Angels to also sign one or two more relievers like Mike Adams and Kyuji Fujikawa. I feel like that will be money well spend and it will help the Angels in the long run.
