Torri is heading to the Tigers but he will always be a Halo at heart

 

It was pretty sad to see Torri Hunter signing with the Tigers but I understand the move from the Angels side of things. I am very happy that he sign with a good team that will allow him to be close to his son. However, Torri is a very special player that gave the Angels fan everything he had every day. Every time I meet him he always had a huge smile and he was always very good especially with the kids. Angels Interested in Japanese right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa

 

 General Manager Jerry Dipoto confirming on Thursday that there is a mutual interest between the team and free-agent closer Kyuji Fujikawa. Dipoto goes on to say that the feeling is mutual because Kyuji has shown interest in playing in the west cost.

 

Fujikawa, 32, was playing for the Hanshin Tigers last year going 3-3 with a 1.24 ERA and 41 saves in 56 games. He also pitched in the WBC in 2006 and 2009. The best park of Kyuji is that he does not come with a posting like Yu did last year for the Ranger.

 

Dipoto has a very good idea of what Fujikawa is all about because when Dipoto was with Arizona Diamondbacks he spent time scouting in Japan.“I’ve seen him pitch against major league hitters on a world stage,” Dipoto said. “His talent is not a question.” (LA Times)

I feel like this will be a good pick up if the Angels are able to pull it off because he is experience. Also he three really good pitches and he was really good during the WBC.

On a side note Angels sign Mitch Stetter a 31 years old lefty that was with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2007-2011
